Manitoba Construction Sector Council, in partnership with the YMCA-West Portage Branch, will deliver the Shift Change Supervisor Training Program weekly between May 10th and June 14th, 2024.

Course Information

Description

This “Gender Inclusive Leadership Training Course” is designed and delivered for male supervisors working in skilled trades. Male leaders need opportunities to learn about the challenges and opportunities that exist in building and supporting diverse teams. The work is conversation-based and includes concepts like:

  • Understanding and awareness of gender in the workplace
  • Gender differences and identities
  • Power and privilege
  • Communication
  • Gender-based violence
  • Conflict resolution
  • Leadership
  • Action planning

Through this unique program, we’re seeing big changes happen in small businesses. Participant organizations are seeing leaders emerge and teams get stronger. Supervisors are seeing team culture shift to be more positive and inclusive. Over 100 supervisors have been trained in Nova Scotia today. They are leading their companies to compete for a more diverse workforce, creating a better workplace culture, and the work continues.
