Description
The Manitoba Construction Sector Council in partnership with Northpine Foundation are pleased to launch several fully funded training programs designed to lead to ongoing employment within Manitoba’s construction sector. We are seeking individuals who are currently receiving Employment and Income Assistance benefits and are seeking to begin building a challenging and well-paying career in the construction industry.
- Fully funded Tuition, Tools and Equipment
- Training to include Job Readiness, Safety Certification and Technical Skills
- Must be prepared to participate in employment search upon graduation
- All training takes place in Winnipeg
Available Courses:
- Framer Program | January 5 to June 19, 2026
- Glazier Program | February 2 to March 13, 2026
- Water & Wastewater Installation | March 2 to April 17, 2026
- Introduction to Heavy Construction | March 30 to May 15, 2026
- Drywall Program | April 27 to June 19, 2026
- Painting Program | May 25 to July 10, 2026

All training takes place in Winnipeg.
Entrance Requirements
In order to be selected for this program, candidates must be actively receiving Employment and Income Assistance.
We are seeking candidates who meet the following prerequisites:
- 18 years of age or older
- Currently receiving EIA supports
- English language proficiency (CLB 6)
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Assets include:
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence
- Previous experience in construction
- Willingness to travel to northern Manitoba
- Completion of grade 10
Successful candidates will be asked to commit to consistent attendance in the training program.
