Job Description

The J. Hansen Group is in search of a Journeyman Plumber. In this role, you will perform service work on plumbing systems in commercial and residential environments. You will maintain excellent rapport and build long-term value-based relationships with customers. We are looking for a dedicated, hard-working individual who takes pride in their work. With your enthusiastic and ambitious energy to provide the highest quality of customer service, you will play a definite key role in enhancing our corporate image and reputation.

Job Details

Principal Duties

  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
  • Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
  • May prepare cost estimates.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Completion of apprenticeship hours or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade
  • Service experience is an asset
  • Backflow/ Gas Ticket is an asset
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to support 24-hour emergency service for our clients (flexible on-call rotating schedule)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
