The Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC) has a new home! While its previous location at 1000 Waverley served the sector council very well over the past 14 years, the end of the lease required MCSC and other sector councils to find a new office this summer.

“We’re proud of all the people who have benefited from the training delivered at our Waverley location over the years,” says Carol Paul, MCSC’s Executive Director. “Our new location is bright, spacious with a training room, lounge area and free parking, which will facilitate serving more people more often.”

At just over 2,000 sq. ft., MCSC’s new location is at a major intersection, making it easier for people who rely on public transit to get to and from MCSC. With many amenities nearby, such as grocery stores, retailers, and other suppliers, the stakeholders MCSC serve will likely already be familiar with the location.

“The biggest ‘upgrade’ with our new space is it’s all ours,” beams Paul. “While we enjoyed the collaboration with other sector councils at 1000 Waverley, having our own private space allows us to customize long-term training resources in our rooms without time limit restrictions, plus it gives us the capacity to increase our training. “

Given the size of its new space, MCSC will also rent out training rooms to other organizations and convert smaller spaces into meeting rooms and other breakout spaces with staff moving from cubicles to offices. “Our team members do such a great job of working one-on-one with individuals, and with our new layout, can provide even greater connection in-person when introducing people to careers in construction,” says Paul.

MCSC plans to have an open house and welcome celebration once the team gets settled. More to come!
