MCSC’s EmpowHER program has been a “life-changing experience” for many of the women who have participated in learning new construction, manufacturing, and filmmaking skills during the 12-week training course. Over the past year, MCSC has teamed up with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, and Film Training Manitoba to offer the course to a few cohorts, which allowed participants to branch off into one of three trades areas for their hands-on practicum work. For those who chose the construction trade, MCSC transitioned them into a painting program with support from Purpose Construction and Sherwin-Williams.
