SURVEYOR – HIGHWAYS DIVISION
Under the direction of the Survey Department Manager, the Surveyor is responsible for survey, design and machine control duties.

Principal Duties
- As a Surveyor your duties will include:
- Lay-out and staking
- Topographic surveys
- CAD and 3D model prep
- Grading design and review
- Quality/As built measures
- Rod and Level surveys
- Operating GPS and Total Station for Survey and Machine Control applications
Qualifications
Your experience includes:
- Minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience
- Post-secondary education in Geomatics, Survey, or Municipal Technology, or similar
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License and use of reliable transportation
- Willing to work long hours (50-70 per week) during the season, primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Solid understanding and use of total stations, leveling instruments, GNSS equipment, laser alignment equipment and other surveying equipment
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, standards and construction methods
- Working knowledge of identifying and interpreting survey control monuments
- Physically capable of routine manual labour
- Strong attention to detail including a high level of accuracy
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Comfortable using computers and excel spreadsheets and CAD software
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and independently
- Ability to multitask including managing e-mail and voicemail regularly
- Ability to manage workload and meet tight deadlines
