Job Description

We work on a variety of projects including new structural builds where blueprints are provided, and also heavy equipment for the transportation, mining and construction industries. In this position it will be your duty to take on ownership of projects, build by design or repair work to heavy equipment. Some new builds may require fabricating jigs to create a production flow and/or manage warping. When repairing, it will be your responsibility to identify root cause of the failure, remove damaged components, assemble parts and reinstall. This is a fast paced position with ample opportunity to grow. Must be willing to train an apprentice.

Job Details

Principal Duties

– Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications
– assemble metal parts using various tools and equipment
– Operate machinery such as bandsaws, iron worker, grinders and various hand tools
– Weld and join metal components using different welding techniques
– Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications
– Maintain a clean and organized work area
– Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment

Qualifications

– Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
– Skilled in welding processes including MIG (stainless and mild), TIG (stainless/aluminum), arc welding.

– Valid CWB tickets must be provided prior to employment
– Excellent problem-solving skills
-Willing to train others
