Principal Duties
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- Draft technical detailed designs for products using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Resolve and consult with others designers & review managers to correct design problems within engineering.
- Complete high quality drawing packages for customers and manufacturing cells in a timely manner. Attention to detail is critical.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and adjust priorities based on incoming and team workload.
- Coordinate complex designs from conception to manufacturing through design meetings, test orders, and factory coordination.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Graduated from a Mechanical Engineering Technology or Drafting program.
- An understanding of mechanical HVAC equipment, and manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high sense of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with the added characteristics of multi-tasking with organization.
- Must be able to read manufacturing drawings with an understanding of basic manufacturing processes and principles.
- Must have hands on experience or basic understanding of power tools, hand tools, etc.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or HVAC industry would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a customer facing role would be considered an asset.
